Stephanie Chung is a 2021 graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Speech-Language Pathology program through the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences. She holds registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC).
Stephanie participated in research at the undergraduate level, focusing on sociophonetics, as well as the graduate level on a retrospective case study on atypical child phonology. Her main clinical interests are child phonological and articulatory development, and social communication. She also works with adults in acute care, where she assesses and treats swallowing and communication impairments in the hospital setting. She has participated in continuing education, including Julie A. Huffman’s “Gulp! Esophageal Dysphagia for the SLP”, and Dr. Catriona Steele’s course on sEMG and biofeedback for dysphagia therapy.
At West Coast, Stephanie assesses and treats children with articulatory, phonological, language, social communication, and fluency disorders. Through her externships she gathered experience working with children aged 0-5, and believes in a play-based, family-centred approach for the best therapy outcomes.
